Carl Burger Dodge La Mesa, CA
| I recently bought a Dodge Dakota 2002 4x4 V8 Quad Cab from Carl Burger Dodge in La Mesa. I have had nothing but regret since I left the lot with my new truck only one month ago. First of all the brakes failed. Something that should never passed a safety inspection. Next I noticed that my spare tire had a huge hole in the back of it. On the side facing towards the pick-ups cab. Seemed they were trying to hide it. I had to crawl under it to see this. When I took it back to them they blamed it on myself. The tire had rust all over the steel radials which is the only thing that saved me. It was a busy day for me so I had to rush out of the dealer to make prior appointments. I have noticed that the apparent new tire that they claimed to have installed is used and greatly warn down on 1 side. And yes my brakes are still squeaking, my truck still squeaking. If I can save at least one person from making the same mistake of buying a truck from Carl Burger then this was a success. UNLESS ONE LIKES THE SHORTER END OF THE STICK, AVOID CARL BURGER. THEY ARE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!

Ontario Mitsubishi Service Department 1151 South Kettering Ave Ontario, CA 91761 (909)418-7300
Even the SouthCalifornia.com cars need servicing from time to time. When you are new to an area, it is difficult to find trust in automobile repair. The rumors were that we could get good service at Ontario Mitsubishi. This time it wasn't rumor but fact. Their service representative, Jim Miller, was very courteous and knowledgeable. He provided an estimate for repairs that was right on the money. He explained the repairs and gave us options on how to proceed. It should always be this easy.
Direct Towing 21849 Pico St Grand Terrace, CA 92313 (909)370-3883
Now I must admit that this is one service that I was not looking forward to. The idea of this ordeal brought back memories, and not very good ones. But this was a very pleasant surprise. Ken was very professional in how he talked to me and the way he handled the car. He arrived at the time promised and explained the charges for the service (reasonable too). The ride to the repair shop was in a clean, quiet, and cool truck, not the usual greasy, noisy, and hot interiors of most. I hope that I never need this kind of service again, but if I do, I will definitely call Direct Tow.
Swifty Sign 9819 Foothill Blvd Suite E Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730 Located next to the Green Burrito (909) 466-5616
This company has absolutely the best in customer service. The Millers definitely deliver service with a smile. This was put to the test when we placed an order for a sign. The error was ours but Swifty Sign reworked the sign and would not charge us for the mistake. We have not found many businesses that think that the customer is right about anything. Swifty Sign is building an excellent reputation by giving the consumers the best in quality product and superior customer service. We will not use anyone else.
Design-A-Stitch Rancho Cucamonga, CA (909) 987-8099
We did a lot of shopping for this service and there are a lot of companies that offer custom embroidery. We found them in all parts of town and even in the mall. Design-A-Stitch was the shining star. We first talked to Wendy over the phone and tried to explain what we needed. She was able to determine what we needed even though we didn't know much about the subject. She provided a sample of the embroidery showing us exactly what it would look like. The price was reasonable and the service was excellent. For custom embroidery and monogramming, Design-A-Stitch is head and shoulders above the rest.
Squire II Barber Shop 7201 Archibald Ave #13 Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91701 (909) 987-0016
It is difficult for me to find a good barber, or one that I think can cut my hair the way I want it. I tried a few in the area but wasn't satisfied with what I found. I avoid the unisex chain shops because you never get the same person twice. Bill's Squire II Barber Shop is the best around. He has a staff of well trained barbers that make you feel at home the first time that you go in. Bill provides the experience necessary to make sure that you get a good hair cut every time.
Delrosario Pupuseria 9134 Foothill Blvd Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730 (909) 980-8444
This one is easy. Good food at a good price. The Salvadorian food selection is large. We had the pupuso and enjoyed every bit of it. When you go there to try the food, mention to Roberto that you heard about his restaurant here.
Alta Loma Sewing & Vacuum Center 7232 Archibald Ave Alta Loma, CA 91701 (909) 987-2141
When we visited Alta Loma Sewing & Vacuum Center we found Jesse (manager) and Connie (owner) willing and able to solve our problems. We had a sewing machine that didn't sew and a vacuum cleaner that wouldn't clean. The sewing machine had an operator error and after their detailed explanation on how to correct and prevent the problem the machine is working fine. Since the vacuum cleaner made smoke, the repair took more work. They made us aware that the cleaner was under warranty and saved us some money. It is refreshing to find kind knowledgeable people that want to make sure that you are a satisfied customer.
Foothill Builders Mart 15825 Foothill Blvd Fontana, CA 92335 (909) 829-2929
This establishment is unique in the fact that it is large enough to stock almost everything under the sun but small enough to have the hard to find items. I was looking for a wooden folding rack that I have not been able to find for several years. They had two in stock (only one now) and the price was right. The personnel are courteous and always have time to say hello.
Joseph Filippi Winery & Vineyards 12467 Base Line Road Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91739 (909) 899-1236
I didn't appreciate wine until I took the tour at the Joseph Filippi Winery in Rancho Cucamonga. There was much more to making wine than I thought. From machines that remove the stems to exact temperature control in the tanks. I wasn't aware that wine barrels wear out. The wine created there is excellent and Gino can explain the process like no one else can.
Discount Tire Centers 11788 Foothill Blvd Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730 (909) 484-1801
Finding someone that really knows tires is about as hard as finding a good mechanic. Albert at Discount Tire not only knows about tires, he also knows is way around brakes and suspension. He can help you decide what tires you need and give the car a good check over while he is at it. He explained the brake repair job that we got there so that even I could understand.
Jeep-Chrysler of Ontario 1202 Auto Center Drive Ontario, CA 91730 (909) 390-0298
At some point it becomes necessary to buy another car either to replace an old one or to fill a need. I have found this to be a very painful experience in the past. This time Alvino eased the pain. While it still took a lot of bargaining and a lot of time, he was able to get us the deal that we wanted. The other dealerships couldn't come close. Can you guess where we will buy out next car? Jeep - Chrysler of Ontario would be a very good guess.
The Home Depot 11884 Foothill Blvd Rancho Cucamonga (909) 948-9200
This one was very scary. I thought that Home Depot had changed their ways. I bought a power tool during Home Depot's clearance sale. The tool was a display, so it had a scratch or two but the saleperson assured me that it was pretty much complete. When time came to use the tool, it seemed to me that a vital part was missing. So off I go to let Home Depot fix the problem. The clerk in the Returns department would not tell me what I needed to hear. She offered her only solution; a refund. But I needed the tool and it was a very good deal. Finally the tool department manager was called in and she was super. She very graciously showed me that the tool was indeed complete, and that had I read the instructions I would have known that. Well, this just proves two very strong facts: First, Home Depot stands behind what they sell and Second, If all else fails, read the instructions.
Crown Toyota 1201 Kettering Drive Ontario, CA 91761 (909) 390-9700
No, I didn't buy a car just because the other staff member did. I looked at several dealerships before arriving at Crown Toyota. They had the car that I was looking for. It was a used car, but new to me. Nabil showed me several others and we drove them all. I kept going bact to the first one. He is a very patient man. When it came time to make a deal, he proved it again. I knew what I wanted for my car and I knew what I wanted to pay for the new one. Enters Rod the Assistant Sales Manager. Rod quickly sized up the situation and was able to make both directions the same. Rod was very courteous and had the ability to close the deal. Nick in Finance was able to get me in and out fast so that I could make some important appointments. I noticed a couple things that required the attention of their service department. Danny certainly does know his business. He was able to resolve the issues in record time. Excellent experience! The only thing now is the floor mats that Rod promised, and I don't have any doubts that I will get them.
A & A Automotive & Tire 9541 9th Street Rancho Cucamonga (909) 944-6683
These are the absolutely nicest people I've met. This was a part of the solution to the issues with the car that I bought at Crown. John was waiting for me and had the tires ready and an open bay so that he could get started as soon as I got there. He drove the car in and got the ball rolling. He kept me posted about the progress in replacing the tires. I mentioned a couple of missing caps and he not only made sure that all were in place on the car, but made sure that I had a couple of spares in case it happened again. Even though this was through the car dealership, I was treated as one of A & A's valuable customers. And now I am one!
Lowe's 11399 Foothill Blvd Rancho Cucamonga (909) 476-9697
I guess that sooner or later it was bound to happen. On Monday (05-05-2003), I went to Lowes in Rancho Cucamonga to shop for a couple of ceiling lights for our dining room and breakfast nook. It started as a lonley search and it would have been better had it stayed that way. When the Lowes employees did appear, they were armed with a roll-around ladder and a fork lift. Instead of asking me if I needed help, I was asked to move out of the way because they were coming through. As I walked off in disgust, one of them did ask if I needed some help with the light fixtures. I disappointedly declined the offer and left the store. It seems that their immediate task was more important than giving a customer a helping hand.
